Recovery does not detect external USB CD/DVD Drive
I have a National Instruments PXI chassis with an embedded controller, on which I would like to install a solid state HD. It does not have an internal CD/DVD drive, so I am using an external USB drive (Sony DRX-840U).
I have downloaded the trial version of TI 2013, and successfully created eight volumes of image on DVD(s). I also created a rescue CD. When I install the SSD in the PXI chassis and boot the system, the rescue CD is read and Acronis launces OK. But, at that point, I am unable to proceed because the Acronis tool does not recognize the Sony USB drive - which I was planning to use to transfer the images on to the new SSD.
Can anyone help?

My guess is that you are using a NI PXI controller that has Intel USB 3.0 ports.
First, while booted to the Rescue Media try unplugging the USB Sony drive and then plugging it back in.
If this fails to allow the recognition of the Sony USB connected CD/DVD drive, it is probably because the USB port controller is not recognized by the Linux based Rescue Media. If you have multiple USB ports to choose from, try using a different USB port when re-connecting the CD/DVD drive (you can disconnect and re-connect the drive while still booted to the Rescue Media). You may have more than one USB controller handling your USB ports. If none of the USB ports work with the Linux based Rescue Media, the only solution would be to purchase, and use, the True Image 2013 Plus Pack to create Windows based WinPE Rescue Media and inject the USB controller drivers into it (if necessary) to be able to "see" and use the USB connected drives on your system in the True Image 2013 Rescue environment.
