Recovery of File in ProgramData Folder

I am using Home version 2014. When trying to recover a file located in the ProgramData folder, it does not appear in the C:\ listing. But, when I search for a specific file in that folder, it comes up. It is not a protected folder. Any suggestions or settings needed to show this file in the C:\ file listing?
