The remote server is unavailable - for about a month now

For about a month now I have received the message "The remote server is unavailable" with 'Event code' 0x009800DE when attempting to connect to Online Backup.
I have submitted two support tickets to Acronis without any reply.
Deleting the 'client' security certificate will at least let me (temporarily) log in but when I attempt to access one of my machine names I receive an error message with no title, event code: 0x00040001+0x009800DE Any attempt to reconnect to Online Backup ends up with the first problem.
I am half way through my Online Backup subscription.

What is going on? Is there a fix and when will I receive some support from Acronis?

Most likely this error is caused by a firewall or some other security software. I would recommend this KB article to resolve it.

I did not find any recent cases in our system for this problem, could you get back to me with the e-mail address you used to contact us or any automatic follow-ups, if you got any, should have the case numbers.

I had the same issue. Contacted tech support, went through all the steps they suggested: delete certificate, they changed password, etc. etc. I opened firewall ports connected to host name, still no fix. I could activate license for machine, but could not access online archive. Are your computers on a local domain? I had to create a domain backup user account, with backup user permissions and domain admin permissions (not happy about that). Then I added it as the logon account for the Acronis Managed Machine Service. After restarting machine, I was able to access online vault/archive and create backup task.

The DC and firewall were not recognizing the local account that the software created when installed on machine. Making it a domain acct was able to verify as authenticated user and allow connections.

I can telnet to:
obstorage.acronis.com 55556
rpc.acronis.com 443

I cannot telnet into
storage3.acronis-hosting.com 44445

even with firewall and AV turned off

Seems to have just started

Worked up till 8/8
Did non work 8/9
worked 8/10 and 8/11

has not worked since

New dell Windows 7 Pro sp1 with all windows updates adn 6 gb ram

What do I try next?

I have this exact issue. Windows 7, and can't telnet to: storage3.acronis-hosting.com 44445. I have 2 pc's with acronis installed. One is ok, the other gets this issue.
