Replacing Vista with XP: how do I get to use ACTIH12 in XP?

Thread needs solution

I should have asked this before I began!! I installed ATIH12 into my C: drive so as to be able to create an image of my Vista installation in case I run into problems trying to instal XP and need to revert to Vista. However, if I am successful, how do I get to use ATIH12 once XP is up and running? Do I just re-install it from the DVD? Or should I have installed ATIH12 into my F: drive (external hard drive) - and if that's what I should have done, how do I now move it from my C; drive to my F: drive.

You can install it (although currently installing is not recommended by users due to too many issues and side effects) but it is better to use the boot media.

You can create it from an installed ATIH 2012 but since I already advised against installing you can download the ISO image from the Acronis site. Its in the update section for your registered acronis products after you logged in.

Burn the ISO on a CD and boot your XP system from the CD to restore your Vista backup (or whatever you want to do). If you have a boxed version: the program CD is bootable. You can use that CD although it will of course not contain the fixed from the latest builds.
