Rescue Dick not recognizing 2nd SATA drive.
I am trying to restore from an image using an Acronis True Image Home® version 11.0 (build 8,101) rescue disk. The second SATA drive (Samsung- HD403LJ), is not recognized though it appears in the bios and windows (XP PRO). The first drive appears normally.
Ideas anyone?
Thanks, Jeff

Hello Jeffreu Jensen,
Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/ | Acronis True Image]]
Please let us know if the solution provided by MudCrab doesn't help. I will send you an ISO file to create Acronis Bootable Rescue Media based on ISOLINUX. Or you can upgrade your license to the latest version, to Acronis True Image Home 2010.
I may recommend you to install a trial version in order to make sure that the program runs flawless for you.
If you would like to purchase the upgrade to Acronis True Image Home 2010, please visit the Acronis online store.
Thank you.

Hi Mudcrab . .
Do you know how I can automate the "quiet acpi=off noapic option" for my recovery disk? I have True Image 10.
Thanks!

I assume you mean TI 10 and not 2010 (2010 lets you add parameters when you create the CD).
I haven't tested it, but I assume that you should be able to add any parameters you need using the Grub4DOS method described in this thead (see post #4) in the old forum. In this case, you'd be adding the acpi=off noapic options instead of the vga=... option.
Acronis used to provide users with a custom ISO that included parameters that needed to be entered on every boot-up from the TI CD. However, I doubt they still do that for version 10.

Hi Oleg!
I have Acronis® True Image Home® version 10.0 (build 4,942) and my bootable Rescue cd won't recognize my SATA C: hard drive in my new Acer Aspire X1700 Vista 64 (soon to be Windows 7 64 when I receive the disk from Acer))
Can I get that ISO file you mentioned to burn to a cd so that it will be recognized?
Thanks!

Like everyone else I have just rebuilt my computer, had version 11 which would not look at the sata drives with boot disk. Bought 2010 it did not work tried iso file it did not work. After reading the above I went on line to acronis chat help, joke. I guess that is where they teach people or try to, he sent me a link for ISO file TrueImage_6053_multiparam_standard_english_il.iso I down loaded it and like the rest would not work. I can see my C: dirve which is fat, but the D: drive which is ntsf and where the backups are are not there!
Could you send me an email with a link to the right iso like the people above.
Lee

Will it is 8 days sence I asked for help and nothing, I did get an email back for the case I opened which I replied that I still had a problem. And nothing, you seem to know what the problem is you have offered these ISO fles to help others but will not make it available to the rest of us. I guess customer service for a refund is all that is left. I am glad I paid by credit card.

Hello Lee,
Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help.
I have reported about the delay with the response to the appropriate manager, the appropriate staff will take care of the request soon. He will request several diagnostic files from you to identify the exact reason of the issue.
I assume that D: drive is a separate physical hard drive. I suggest you to set the SATA Mode to IDE mode in BIOS as a temporal solution. This can solve the issue. Also please try the third boot parameter available for the new CD created using the ISO file provided (the acpi=off noapic parameter).
If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other question do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.
Thank you.

My boot disk or should I say several different ones with and without the "acpi=off noapic" turned on won't see any of my drives. I get this error. E000101F4: Acronis True Home has not found any hard disk drives.
I downloaded the more recent Acronis True Image 2010 trial to see if it would work, but it didn't either. Can you help me please!
This is happening on a Gigabyte X58A-UD3R motherboard using the Gigabyte SATA2 controller.
Thanks in advance for any help in this matter.

Hello Yana,
I am a little confused as to which file we should download to fix this 2nd SATA drive issue. When I log into my account, the date of the files are from 2008! So which file(s) are we supposed to download to burn a New Rescue Disk in v11 where it will recognize the second SATA drive in order to clone?

Lee Taylor,
Did you get your issue resolved? The new build 7046 may also solve your issue and 7046 also has an additional iso available.

Lyle,
Yes, the file you listed is the file being referenced. This is a new listing. Prior to its listing, there were none listed. If it does not work, then, you can post back again for more help from Acronis support.

Hello GroverH,
I did go ahead and download that file
Product native bootable media
Build: #8101 Size: 26.35 MB
Date: July 3, 2008
and burned another disk. This new rescue disk did NOT work either. The same result:
"You have only one drive".
Please advise on my next move.
Thanks,

Hello Oleg and/or GroverH,
This ISO did NOT work either. I get the very same message! Did this file work for you with 2 SATA HDDs?
BTW, the Add New Disk Wizard gives the same error message as the Clone section does...
"You have only one drive This program is designed to work with two or more drives".
What's next?
Did this file work for you with 2 SATA HDDs?

Lyle,
If the board has two SATA controllers (a lot of boards do), do you know if both drives are connected to the same controller or if one is connected to one controller and one to the other?
- Accedi per poter commentare

Yes, In this specific case, which I change out from time to time as I see necessary to maintain a proper backup (clone) of my c:\ drive, currently the c:\ drive is connected to a 6Gb/s controller and the other SATA drive is connected to a separate 3 Gb/s controller/connector on the MB.
BTW, the MB is an ASUS P7P55D-E.
This MB is ROCK SOLID!
- Accedi per poter commentare

In that case, the drivers are most likely supporting only one of the controllers. Which drive is the one being seen?
If you connect the drive not found to the other controller and then boot to TI, does it see both drives? If so, can you do the restore (or clone) and then put the drive back on the other controller and have it work?
I have an ASUS P7P55D Pro board and it's been the best board I've used.

Hey MudCrab and Oleg,
I downloaded the latest TI 2010 and made an Emergency Disk. I booted with the CD and got the same error:
"You have only one drive. This program is designed to work with two or more drives".
FYI, the boot HDD is on a separate 6Gb/s controller than the other internal HDD which is on a 3Gb/s controller.
I bought this MB to take advantage of the newer SATA HDDs which utilize the faster transfer speeds. On the MB, there are separate ports to plug these newer SATA drives into.
What's next?
TIA,
lyle
BTW, do either of you know how to temporarily disable all of the start-up items from launching each and every time I reboot, say with a kybd command? It takes a while to load and then close all of these apps while conducting all of these trials and different configurations
