Rescue Media Builder will not complete loading

Thread needs solution

Hello,

The Rescue Media Builder for my new ATI 2014 will not load from either a CD or USB-drive. It gets to the point where the screen displays the Acronis Logo and below that "Loading, please wait..."

Most recently, I waited while I went out for breakfast (about 1 hour) and it was still in that state when I returned.

Any suggestions? I did not have this problem with the ATI 2013 that was replaced on this HP ENVY dv7 running W8.1.

Thanks,
Stephen S. Baca

Am I understanding that the 2013 Recovery CD worked on your Windows 8.1 machine?

Register your 2014 serial number into your Acronis web-account and then contact acronis Live Chat with your issue.
You only have 30 days of free direct support which begins with your date of purchase of the 2014 version.

Thanks for the response. GroverH. However, I'm sad to say that my 30 days has passed. This is the first time that the Acronis Product has failed me. My own fault for not trying that feature sooner.

If yes, will the 2013 CD boot your machine now?

Are you having to make any changs in the UEFI bios in order to boot your 8.1 machine?

Yes, the 2013 Recovery CD worked on my W 8.1 machine.

Yes, the 2013 CD does boot my machine now.

No changes are being made to be able to boot the 8.1 machine.

Thanks for your help with this matter.

Hello Stephen,

as a workaround you can create a WinPE-based media.

However, the situation looks rather strange and I would appreciate if you can also check if the issue persists if you burn to a  CD an .iso image of rescue media downloaded under account. This way we can localize the issue and make sure that it is not caused by bootable media builder failure.

Thank you in advance!

Thanks Anna. The work-around I'll save as a last resort. Tomorrow, I'll try to burn the .iso image to a CD, try it and report back.

Hi Stephen,

thank you! I'll wait for updates from you.

Anna,

Whew, it finally worked thanks to you!!

For CDs there were 2 boot modes on this HP, regular and UEFI. The regular gave the same result - stuck and the UEFI choice got it started!

Thanks,
Stephen

Glad to hear it, Stephen!
