Reserve Copy

Thread needs solution

I am using True Image Home 2012 and I have an Incremental backup (full version every 7 incremental versions) of my Data drive.

The backups go to my Backup_1 hard drive and I have it set to make a Reserve copy on my Backup_2 hard drive.

The problem I am experiencing is in the way Acronis insists on making the Reserve backup.

Even if the incremental backup is, let's say, 100 MB for any given day, Acronis insists on making a FULL backup of all 240 GBs of the Data drive as the Reserve copy EVERY day!

All I want it to do is basically make a mirror copy of the file for that day on the second backup hard drive, not create a full backup every day as a Reserve copy.

In my mind this defeats the entire point of having an incremental backup.

Is there any way to get around this fault in the program other than turning off the Reserve copy option?

Thank you.

As currently designed, reserve copy is always a full.

If you want a 2nd mirror folder, you will need to do it with an additional task or create a copy of the files into a new folder.

Additional task, as in a Backup of my Backup? Or, are you talking about something else (other than manually copying the files)?

I was suggesting that you create a new 2nd backup task (same as #1 except for a different storoage location).

Duh, silly me. :)

OK, a crappy workaround it is when this should be an option within Acronis.

Thank you for the responses and I guess that's what I'll have to do for now.

Another option would be to use a program such as the free "Replicator" and have it create copies of the original by copying the source into another folder on another disk. This would be easy to and the copy quality could be maintained. The down side is that if you do this on a regular basis, you should sometimes have TrueImage vaidate the copes just to confirm they have not lost their quality and not corrupt.

My responses are only to provide workarounds from a volunteer. I don't speak for Acronis.

Thank you for your time in responding. I will most likely employ one of your solutions.
