[RESOLVED] Backup to Flash Drive
I am attempting a data backup to a newly formatted flash drive (NTFS). The Acronis software seems to hang at the "calculating" stage. Eventually the operation times out with the not-very-helpful message "Error occurred while creating the file". I have a good drive because I can write to it with other programs.
Does anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks for the timely and helpful suggestion. The drive was indeed connected to a native USB port. I actually got the backup going by setting up a new backup. Apparently the original had been corrupted somehow, but life is now good.
Is there a way to pull down this posting so people won't waste their time on this issue?

Lots of people have power problems using "self-powered" PATA/SATA USB drives
when connected to the front USB ports. The front ports can't source as much current
as the rear motherboard ports. Use either a two-headed USB cable or only use the
rear ports for more reliable operation.
I have not heard of solid-state USB flash drives having "power" issues, but could be possible.

I'm mostly facing the backup issue, I have a flash drive I convert the data in it. Because of my work, I have a good drive because I can write to it with other programs. I'm working in a Content writing company in Pakistan, so I want the best flash drive for my work.
