Hi all. I need help.

I have ATIH 2012 Bootable CD. I want to restore archive from another computer to my computer. When booting acronis, i open Options, and i seting ip adress and second cumputer (from where i will restore archive) finds ip of my computer. This mean, that they connected. But when i whant to restore archive, atih not getting any network.

So, i want to know, what are the problem and how can i configure to restore and backup archive via network.

Thanks for help.

When using ATI with a network drive, use a UNC path to to your NAS device for a backup destination, not a typical friendly "mapped" drive.
e.g.
\\192.168.2.25\My Backups\

I believe it may also be possible to use a UNC path that includes server name rather than IP, such as
\\server1\My Backups\

Note that restoring disks or partitions should be done by booting from the Acronis True Image bootable Recovery Media (Rescue Media).

But i dont have knowladges about UNC path. Please, if you can, tell me more about it and step by step what need to do to restore and backup archive via network.

Thank you dear tuttle

Felo,

First, you need to make sure that your archive is in a shared folder on the backup computer. If you can verify with your restore computer that the backup computer is effectively sharing the folder that would be great.

Does the recovery CD show the windows share on the network?

IT is possible that the recovery CD doesn't support your network adapter...

Felo,

OK. Let's start with the basics.
Let's call computer A the computer where you store the backup. Let's call computer B the computer you want to restore to.

You made a backup that you stored on computer A. Is this a backup of computer A or of computer B?

Go to computer A, right click on the folder containing the backup. Choose share with (Windows 7)... Is the folder shared? If the folder is not shared, you won't be able to access this folder across the network.
