Restore Error

Thread needs solution

I purchased a copy of Acronis home 2013 to back up a Lenovo PC with SSD.
Running on Windows 7.
Loaded software and created bootable CD.
Backed up the system on another PC to a USB Hard disk with the file name 1-Basic.tib
Two hours later I tried to restore the SSD from the backup.
When I browsed to the file on the disk I noticed the file name had been changed to "1-Basic_full_b1_s1_v1.tib"
When I selected the file to restore I got the error below
"This is not the last volume of the backup archive".

I checked the permissions on the USB Disk and the user has full control.
Can anyone help??

Thanks

The file name change is normal beginning with the 2013 version.

Not sure from where you did the restore, but the best method is to do the restore when booted from the CD.

Not sure as to the cause but I would repeat the backup and for an extra measure of safety, I would perform the backup when booted from the TI recovery CD.

BE sure and check mark the disk as to what is to be included within the backup. You want all partitions included including any non-lettered partitions.

Greetings...
I don't intend to alter the main topic of this thread, but I have a ? related to Grovers post:

Is there ANY way to prevent that additional add-on to the file name?? I so, I have failed to find it!

By the time I assign a name to the file, then add a @date@_@time@, then the extra "full_b1_s1_v1" gets added, it results in a rather long name. I don't understand the function or necessity of it, and it interferes with my file management.

Thanks for comments........ Bob

Bob,

No, the new file suffixes can't be suppressed.

The reason it was introduced is that many new users were getting confused at to which image was what and what set of images belonged to an archive, especially if they had more than one task and set of images in one place.
