Restore files not working
Ok I had Acronis Home 11 installed ad did a Full backup to start to a USB Harddrive.
My main harddrive died without chance of recovery.
Now I can see the USB harddrive and all the files , but when i choose restore and I can restore the very first backup.
Pretty much useless really.
But I want to recover to the last backup. There are at least 30 or more incremental backups.
Every time I do this it starts and goes along for awhile and then just stops no matter how long I leave it.
I dont get any error message, it just sits there. It isnt really frozen cause the mouse moves and I can click cancel. The cancel doesnt really work.
I have tried various harddrives, all known good. I dont get it.
I have even used a newer recovery disk from 2010 and it doesnt work either.I really need a answer to this as quickly as possible. It contains a lot of buisness data that i need very quickly
Should also say its a Gigabyte otherboard MA790FX
Sata harddrive

I had an issue with Sata disks with TI 11 it couldn't "see" them from the Rescue Disk.
Can you configure your disk as IDE and try again? Search this forum for Sata disks as others have had similar problems.
Try downloading the latest TI 2011 trial, make the rescue disk and see if that works, if it does you will need to upgrade your version of TI.

Also, you might be able to download an iso for the BootCd for ATI11. This will be slightly diff than the bootCD you make from within ATI11. It might have hardware drivers that work better on your machine. login to the Acronis site, go to your registered products and download the BootCd iso. Then burn the iso to a Cd using any CD burner you have. I'd try that before trying a diff ATI version that you would have to buy.

I believe the iso version of the boot CD was only available through support in TI11, I had to contact them when I bought a new PC.
Having said that the iso version has disappeared under my products page of TI2010 (UK website) although I downloaded it just in case when I upgraded to 2010.

For TI11 you have the option to download a "Safe" version of the boot CD as well as a BartPE file, you may find the safe version may allow you to restore your system as it uses the BIOS rather than Linux. If you wish to make a BartPE disk then TI must be installed on the PC you make to disk on.
Have you tried all the Linux commands listed in the user manual when booting the Rescue CD?
Another option is to PM one of the Acronis Moderators on this forum and ask if they can give you a link to an iso that will work with Sata disks

I have zero experience with linux commands.
It sees all of the harddrives without issue.
I wouldnt have a clue how to build a BartPE disk.
I never installed it when I did the install.
I could likely uninstall and then reinstall and see
if I could do a custom install. Which I understand
is how you install the bartpe.
I think what I dont understand is I can go back to the original
full backup and i can restore that. Its when I go to the last one
even from with in the original restore that I cant get it to complete the restore.
There is no error message or nothing.
Recopying to a laptop 250 gig sata (New) and then going to try another restore to
a brand new 250 gig seagate sata.
