Restore Image with V10

Thread needs solution

We have a WinXP system with some Legacy Apps on it that we "Have" to preserve and use as they will not run under Win7 (32/64).

So we've imaged the system (8gb) with TIv10. What we are trying to do is to restore this to a VMware 9 system. When we do so, the "Restore to..." is grayed out.

First question I guess, is can we do this with Acronis? If so, then the next question is why is it greyed out?

Thanks and sorry if this is in the wrong area.

Greetings,
For clarification, is this v10 or TI 2010?

Acronis software does allow you to recover images to VMs, but support for this may be in a later version of the product than what you are trying to use. TI 2010 has the ability to convert .tib to .vhd which is supported by vmware.

.tib files must be converted to .vhd in order to be read by vmware.

Thankyou for the response, I appreciate it. I am using Acronis V10, not 2010. I'll look at that bad boy and try a conversion.

Again, thanks for the assistance.

The VmWare conversion utility can also be used (in some cases) to convert files to the correct format for recovery. However, not every version is compatible depending on the version of ATIH you are using.
