I updated my machine with new mobo, CPU, etc. and installed Win 7. I reinstalled True Image 11 and tried to restore my former data and applications. The data restoration went fine, but the applications, while they work, don't show up in the Control Panel's Program and Features table. What does this mean and would it be a better thing to get rid of them and reinstall what I need.

I assume you mean TI 2011 (TI 11 is an older version).

Restoring apps this way doesn't usually work well. They won't show up normally because they weren't installed -- you just "copied" them back. I would recommend that you remove them and install them properly to avoid potential problems.
