Restoring from smaller HD to Larger HD
Could someone kindly give me the correct procedure for restoring an image containing 3 partitions created of my 80gb hd to a 160gb hd. I tried restoring all partitions which it did but just over half of the drive was unallocated. I couldn't extend the C partition as one of the other partitions was in between C and unallocated space.
I am using ACTI 2009

Click on link #1 inside my signature below. Inside that link, locate index item #3-UU.
Item 3-UU has 2 guides (using Compaq or Gateway) for upgrading to a larger disk.
Look at both guides to see which might be applicable to the structure of your current hard drive. These guides provide all the details you need to move from an 80 to 160.
It is also possible to use a free partition utility such as Partition Wizard and move the partition boundaries on the 160 so that C could be expanded into the unallocated space. I could provide more details about this if interested. You would need to post a screen capture of your 160 with the botched installation as shown in Windows Disk Management graphical view.
You might also be able to use the 2013 trial version bootable media and I believe it would restore using all the space. You would need to sign up for a trial license and download only the iso file for the trial version. No installation would be needed and you would only need to Recovery CD which could be created from the trial iso download.

Thanks, I already have TI2013 for another computer so used the boot CD and all worked OK.
