Rotating backup drives

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I have a backup situation where I have about 3.5TB external storage that I take off site every month for safe keeping. I use two 1.5 and 2.0TB drives, one set is on site, the other is off site. I have just started on the second rotation after implementing ATI and it's causing problems because it's not finding the backups from the first rotation drives. I do have incremental backups but figured it would detect that there is no backup and start a new full backup and go from there.

What is the proper way to handle this?

Best regards,

Each backup task is mated to a specific source and target disk so the backup fails when the original storage disk is not attached.

In order to get this to work, you will need to create separate tasks for each storage disk and the specific target disk has to be attached during the task creation phase so each task points to its own destination disk.

The tasks can be created as scheduled or non-scheduled. My suggestion would be at time of switching, make the switch and then change the upcoming task from non-scheduled back to a scheduled task. Disable the old task by reverting it back to non-scheduled until needed again.
