Same errors since Acronis 2013 every month

Thread needs solution

Hi there. Since using your product, about two years ago, I have to periodically delete backups, configurations and have to start over again.
As it is a cumbersome task that repeats every two or three weeks, which is what it takes to be starting to fail again backups for long time I am without reliable backups.
These settings will make the modified it about a month. Deputy images to see how many have failed.
I also attached some pictures of the logs and error is usually the 0x9F2C53C72E8BCD1F.
In addition, on many occasions stated that I do not want more than 3 or 4 incremental versions created and do not stop until they fill the disk.

You can have good success with this example and new future backups created by this new task will be auto deleted by the program.

GH12. Create Custom Incremental Backup Scheme. 6 Inc, Keep 4 chains. The 6-4 is user choice.

If you want to continue using the incremental type backup, decide on how many inc you want before the next full. That number is your chain content number.
Next decide on how many chains you want to keep (chain number of files is equal to the sum of the full plus the planned incrementals before the next full.

Set up your two numbers in place of my 6 and 4 examples. The program will build that number and the program will begin automatic deletes AFTER the program has reached your threshold of number of chains to keep. In my example of 6 and 4, auto deletion of excess backups will begin after backup #29 (4 chains of 7 files each). The program will always create the replacement before deletion so leave extra temp space for 1 extra full.

One key to success is once the backup task is created, make no changes. If changes needed, start over with a completely new task and the revised changes.

Review my signature link 2-A below with its listing of examples of how to use many options.

Thanx Grover, , I had seen your post when searching for solutions to my problem. Whether I limit the number, disk space or time, strill creating unlimited incremental backups.
Also the biggest problem is that it always gives me error at the second or third copy so no longer useless.
I have seen that many have that problem, but I have not seen a solution to it.

Kikerrobles,

In post #2, you wrote "Working on windows 8.1 with ATI 14".
Hopefully, you were saying you are using TI 2014. Always list the full version you are using.

I understand that you have "been there, done that" and I agree that the options which involve "elapsed dayis" or "disk space" does not work but the option which I listed below DOES WORK. Just follow a few rules. See note-1

The program will do its own old file deletion once it reaches your preset number of chains to keep. You will not need to do manual deletion of any files created by this task using its backup scheme as per my example.

Note-1: It will work if read the provided instructions and create a new task exactly as shown except you can change the keep 4 example to keep fewer chains. Once you create the task and start using it, MAKE NO CHANGES. DO NOT EDIT THE SETTINGS. LEAVE IT IN ITS ORIGINAL SETTINGS.
Do understand that the program a new full is created, the program does NOT delete the prior backup first but instead, creates the replacement first so you must plan on having enough space for the extra full backup each time a new full is created as 2 will always exist (for a few seconds) instead of just one. If you do not plan for this extra space need, you can end up with a full disk error and not know why.

The task can e a scheduled or non-scheduled task. If non-scheduled and run manually, always create the new backup via the "Back up now" option found inside the new task.

Hi Grover, and thanks again. Using all disk space isn't the problem. Some times I have to delete all, sure, but there are more than 800Gb for Backups. I'm cloning your settings, but paid for a program that I hope works will all it's options.

Anyway, as I told you, the problem is that the backups fail. Whatever the configuration all marked as invalid after two or three backups. So I have a program to make backups that does not make me reliable copies of my files.
If there is a solution I would like to know, and if there isn't a solution, it's simple, they can tell me that and I may buy another backup program that works.
What I can't do is deleting all copies every 15 days and create again all tasks because it is easier to copy/paste the files to another disk insted of using ATI.

In short. I configure a new backup, it makes a full copy, and the second or third incremental backup tells me that the backup is invalid.
The only solution I have is to delete all backups and start the process again. So I have not backups, and less when I need in many cases versions of certain files.

My suggestion can help to make backup rotation work but will not help for corrupt backups.

Corrupt backup issues are hard to trace.

Very frequently, this is a hardware issue rather than software. If it my problem, I would (and not in any specific order)
1. Replace the disk cables.
2. Check all partitions (include any non-lettered partitions) on both the source and target disk and file errors.
3. The memory is stressed during the use in creating and verifying a backup. Run a memory check on each stidk of memory in use. Mem test should run at least overnight.
4. When connecting a usb drive for backups, I would connect to rear of computer case and bypass any other type usb connections.
5. A change of software program is usually of no help when finding the cause of corrupt backups.

Thank you for your time, glad you have selfless people who try to solve the problems of others.
Sincerely, thank you very much.
