schedhlp.exe preventing Windows shutdown
Several times when trying to shut down Windows I've been told some action was in progress and the PC would shut down when it's complete. After waiting may minutes I forced a power off. Each time there is a log entry saying schedhlp.exe attempted to veto shutdown.
I do not (intentionally) have Acronis taking any scheduled action - I want to manually request all its actions. Does True Image do something on a scheduled basis whether I request it or not? Is there any way to tell if I accidentally left something scheduled? Can I disable schedhlp.exe?

I don't intentionally have either sync or nonstop backup enabled, but I'm not sure how to tell. I have no need for sync and have never looked at it. And I don't see "nonstop" as a backup scheme or method - whichever it might be.
Should I care that I can't run tasks on schedule if I don't want to schedule backups? Is there anything other than backups that Acronis True Image schedules? (I've set verification to happen after a backup rather than on a scheduled basis, but I haven't seen that the verification actually happens.)

I'm vaguely remembering that some services you could kill in some versions you couldn't in others. Easiest thing is just to go into services, find them, and in stop them, then in their properties change to disable or at least to manual start
Worst that happens in ATI won't run, and then you just reverse the steps--no harm no foul.

1. If you are not using Sync and/or online backup, you can stop their services and change them from automatic to manual. Also, double check along the top menus of the program and make sure you are not "logged in" to the sync option.
To access Services, here is one way. As Scott has stated. these actions can be undone should there be a need.
Using the "Run" program option, copy and paste this next command line into the Run Window. and presss Enter.
%SystemRoot%\system32\services.msc /s
Locate and double click on the
Acronis Non-stop Backup Service
a. Click the Stop Service button and
b. Change the Startup type from Automatic to Manaul.
c. Click OK to save the changes.
Locate and double click on the

If after stopping these service the problem continues, then you can use these procedures to stop the scheduling service--if you do not need the services.
