Scheduled backups, all vanished.

Thread needs solution

I bought a new system in March of 2011, Windows 7 64 bit. Along with that I ordered Acronis TIH 2011, to keep all my backups safe. It was running for all this time without issue, until August 20, when it ran for the last time (I just realized). Go to look into why, and it has no record of any of the scheduled backups in the program. None remain, they're just gone. Settings, locations, all gone. Come to the Acronis site to ask for support, and I find that they have stopped supporting that version, apparently unless I pay for support.
Would not surprise me terribly at this point to discover they released the 2012 version on or about that date, to be honest.

I'm astonished that something I rely on to keep my data safe would just fall over like this, without warning or indication, and then the company that sold it to me wants me to pay to find the cause, or perhaps upgrade to the 2012 version.
Incredibly unlikely at this point, as I've totally lost faith in it's ability to protect my data.

In searching for this issue in the KB here, I came across an article that explained why a schedule might disappear, a missing script (.tis) in the Acronis directory. Sure enough, that directory was empty, apparently caused by something external to Acronis, a separate backup program I use for when I'm out of the office. At this point I don't know why it would do so, but I recovered the files and it's running again.
Apologies to Acronis, it was not their fault at all.
