Scheduled or manual backup does not shut down computer.
I have the shutdown option checked. Both manual and scheduled backups work but it does not shut the computer down nor does it display any error messages. ATIH 2011 Build 6597 on Win 7 Ultimate - Dell 380 Precision. LSI 9211 RAID 0 backed up to internal SATA on the onboard SATA controller. Any help much appreciated.
As a workaround to your problem, there have been reports that using the Windows Task Scheduler to run the task will permit your machine to shutdown. Here is a link which shows the beginning parts of what you would need to do such as creating the shortcut, etc. Change the TI task to "do not schedule" and then create the shortcut which is added to the Windows Task Scheduler. If interested, you mght want to look this over although the illustration is not specific to your issue.
Turned off validation and it still will not turn off.
You could try to uncheck the option to shutdown after backup and, instead, to add a post command to your backup:
- go to disk backup options > pre/post commands
- check the box saying "use custom commands"
- click "edit" for the post command. Enter "shutdown.exe" for the command, "c:\Windows\System32" for the directory and "-r -f" for the parameters (do not enter the quotes)
If this doesn't work, I would try to use the Windows Task Scheduler instead of Acronis scheduler, per Grover's.

I tried putting in the post command. The backup failed. All the log said was "Scheduler failed to start task" - no other info. I did close the TI window which had always been open before. I will try it again tonight leaving the window open. When I start ATI the ACU ask if I want to allow it to make changes. I have it set to run as administrator but the only way I can get around it is if I turn UAC off. I may have to give the Task Scheduler a try if this fails.

The backup ran and shut down TIH but not the computer - guess it's time to learn how to use Task Schedular.
Update. I watched it execute a scheduled backup. It did say windows shutting down but it restarts instead of shutting off. I do not have this problem when shutting down normally. Any suggestions on this?
