SDD clone won't boot properly.

Thread needs solution

After one attempt to use the acronis HD program that came with an upgrade SSD drive, I seem to have the same issue using 2010.

This may not be an acronis issue, but someone might have a clue to help me.

I'm currently looking at a "loading windows" screen message, without the logo, which has been there for at least 30 minutes.

In the previous process (using HD) I had got to this point and rebooted. After that Windows7 loaded, but each time I retarted it I had to go through the repair process.

What I've done -

Slimmed down the original boot disc to only contain about 50GB (moved media to a second drive).

Used the automatic clone disc option to clone my 290GB sata drive to a Kingston 64Gb SSD.

Unplugged the old drive and plugged the SSD into the same sata port.

On reboot, altered the boot sequency to boot from the ssd. Continuing, I got a "Cannot start due to hardare/software changes" message.

Inserted my W7 install disc as directed, booted from DVD, selected language and then the repair option. Told there were startup files problems, confirmed I wanted then repaired. W7 did this then rebooted. I skipped booting from DVD on the restart, and now it's stuck.

I keep reading that Vista will ask for reactivation, but does this apply to w7?

It's just occured to me that I might try removing the second drive (with the data), so I'm going to try that, but any help would be appreciated!
