Seeking solution: Execute backup only when designated target is available

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I'm looking for a possibility to implement a backup scenario which only takes place when certain requirements are met:

Basic schedule should be "daily @ 8pm". The computer in question is a laptop and on the road from time to time. No problem if switched off then, it can be configured to catch up on the next occasion.

Nevertheless, target is a NAS drive which is available only within home LAN. In that case a dedicated drive with directory is provided (as in S:\Backups\Acronis\). So if that laptop is switched on anywhere away from home at schedule time, Acronis will try to back up, but with the target missing it yields a warning like "Backup will fail, if you don't take action within 10 minutes".

No problem if the backup is omitted one or the other day but is it possible to deactivate that warning, So, some kind of solution where Acronis checks first whether the target is available and

  • if yes: do the regular backup
  • if no: ignore silently

(Check might as well refer to whether the laptop is logged into home WLAN or any other condition that signals an ok for doing backup.)

Laptop runs W8.1, TI2015. Any hints or tips?

Regards
Philipp
