The selected file is not an Acronis True Image Home archive.
Just reloaded trueimage 10 (4942) on my new vista computer. Doesn't seem to work. Make a folder on my e disc (backup) do a backup to it . Go to recover, select file that i find called 2010_04_26_17_56_11_877FI.TIB and the system says "The selected file is not an Acronis True Image Home archive."
Any ideas? Do I have to upgrade to something?

Hi Yana
Thanks for the welcome and thanks for the comments.
I went to support on your website and that seems to direct me back here.
So
I tried moving the image to another place but it still didn't work
I only have one version of Acronis and I backed up and attempted to recover with that version
I have run Acronis Info and i attach the zip file.
I also attach a screenshot of the error
Thanks
Doug

Where was your backup originally made and validated, under Windows or bootable media?
Did you run chkdsk /f /r on the disk prior to making the backup?

Hi
I have three hard discs. The backup was made on my E disc. No I did not run chkdsk. Should I have?

It is generally a good practice to make sure there are no disk errors, and correcting ones that can be corrected, by running chkdsk on both the disk which you are planning to back up as well at the target disk where the backup image file is going to be stored. Disk errors in either one could lead to a corrupted image file, even if the backup appears to go to completion. It is also a good practice to do a validation very soon after doing the backup (I always do a validation as part of the backup), and to do this validation using the bootable media, since recovery will always be done under this environment rather than the running Windows system. If the backup image file does not validate, it won't work.
Can you do another backup after running chkdsk /f /r on both source and archive disks and see if it validates properly? Moving the image file does not help - any errors will be moved as well.
