Settings for a NAS Server - need help ?

Thread needs solution

Hi.

Then I boot from a Acronis True Images 2014 CD there is a option to setup a NAS server for backup and restore.

I have an Synology DS214+ but don't know there I find the caracters to use for the setup.

"NDAS Device ID"
"Please enter the NDAS device ID"
"NDAS device ID is composed of 20 characters"

"Write Key"
"Please enter the write key"
"Write key is required for Read/Write mode and is composed of 5 characters"

Umm, your Synology DS214+ is being recognized as an NDAS or Network Direct Attached Storage device. This means that communication with the device is not done over TCP/IP using an IP address but rather via LPX or Lean Packet Exchange. Not sure why or how you have that setup other than possibly you are using an add on package installed on the device for such a service.

I would have a look around in the Package Center of the device for such an install and see if you can find some way to view settings to obtain the Device ID and Write Keys.

Here is a link that explains some about NDAS that you may find interesting:
