Slow recovery speed with bootable Acronis from hard drive shared in LAN

Thread needs solution

Hi!
I shared an external HDD on a Windows 7 system in a LAN.
I use Acronis True Image Home 2012 bootable disk(from an other PC in the LAN) to recover from the HDD shared.
My problem is that when I recovering, the 100 Mb/s network is used only in 50% by Acronis and the recovery speed is 50 Mb/s.
If I copy from the shared HDD in Windows, the network is used 100%(100Mb/s), so I think that there is a problem with Acronis, it doesn't use the whole 100 Mb/s network speed.
Any ideas why?
Thank you!

Welcome,
Is the external drive NAS or USB? How are you measuring the throughput between the two LAN segments?

The external HDD is USB. I'm looking for the network usage in Windows 7 task manager.
Between Acronis and Windows(image file recovery) is aprox. 50% and between two Windows(image file copy) is aprox. 100%, with same HDD and same image file.

Hi b cs,
You are comparing outcomes with different variables. While the LAN and its components might be capable of up to 100 mbps theoretically, the actual sustained throughput between two devices can vary based on several factors. Throttling can also occur if the write speed of the destination is unable to keep up with the speed at which the data can be supplied. Conversely, the read speed of a slower device can affect the performance of other devices on the network. The boot environment does not have the same resources available to it as windows. The value you see in the task manager is a percentage of theoretical vs. actual speed. The percentage will vary based on the resources and drivers being used at each end point. Hope this helps.
