As soon as an online backup commences, the Operation Progress window closes and remains closed throughout the backup. Thus, I cannot stay posted on the progress or speed. Whether the box to shut down the computer upon completion has been checked or not makes no difference. I presume that clicking Status in the notification area should produce the window, but it does not. When doing a disk backup, though, the Operation Progress window functions normally. The OS is Win XP and the backups are being done in an account with Administrator privileges.
I’m new to Acronis ATI Home 2010 and initially, Operation Progress stayed operational throughout the session and could be opened and closed at will. It brought to my attention that upload speeds on my DSL connection were exceptionally slow, which turned out to be due to a telco hardware problem that has been fixed. I repeatedly overestimated the amount of data that could be backed up in available time slots and had to suspend backups. Eventually, SSL read & write errors occurred. When backup was no longer responsive, I deleted C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\TrueImageHome\OnlineBackup; then went through account creation anew. Next, I deleted the backup archive and initialized a new one. Subsequently, I’ve done several 2GB backups and OL Backup has performed perfectly, except for the Operation Progress issue.
