special rule for differential Backup ATIH 12

Thread needs solution

Dear all,
sorry for my bad english.

I have created a backup service
Every 7days differential backup.
After 12 (weeks) diffential backups the next will be a full backup. They will never overwrite, because i used the filename include the date. (filename-yyyy-dd-tt)
Now I want to impliment a rule, that acronis will do a full backup, if the differential backup size have more than X% of the last full backup. Because it make no sense for me to have t have a differential backup size higher than 50% of the last fulll backup.
Please no discussion about difference/increment backups. My favorite is a diff. backups , because for a restore youe need only two files (Fullbackup and one different backup).
The backups files will be managed by a own programm on a second drive.

Thanks a lot

Hort,

there is no built-in feature to achieve what you want, so either you are a computer programmer and you can develop a script to manage your files on the backup disk, or you won't be able to do this.

If you decide to manage the backup files outside of Acronis, make *sure* that you validate your backups on a regular basis to ensure that the chains are valid.
