SSD 50 GB / Acronis backup / recovery location
Hello guys.
Please give me some advices about the backup and recovery.
I have now 2 HDD and tomorrow i get 1 x SSD 50 GB. I'll have to make a fresh install of Windows.
So, i'll keep my SSD for Windows, and those 2 HDD only for storage. Now i wanna ask you how how should i proceed with the SSD. Should i partition the SSD - 30 GB for OS and the rest for my backup image ?
You think it's a good idea ?! If i have the backup image on the HDD, it's going to be a bit slower when i do the recovery ?
Or, should i leave all the 50 GB from SSD for Windows, and all the backup images should be on the HDD ?
I use very often Acronis True Image, and i want to have a bit more speed when i make the backup and the recovery.
Please give me some good advices, guys.
Thanks in advance.

I agree with Martinez, use the SSD drive for Windows itself and use the HDD's for your images and possibly data.
My setup is as follows.
Drive 1: 64GB SSD has Windows OS excluding the swap file and My Documents installed.
Drive 2: Has all my programs and download folders.
Drive 3: 2TB contains my images of the OS drive and my data drive (drive 2).
If you intend to dedicate one drive for images, I would suggest that at some point in time you consider buying a removable rack, so you can remove the drive form the system once you've imaged, this negates the possibility that if somehting catastrophic happened to your PC which killed your drives, your images are more likely to be safe as that drive is only in the PC whilst imaging.
I have an external drive which makes weekly images in addition to my daily internal ones and my internal drive will shortly be in a mobile rack, so hopefully I'm covered apart from flood or fire!
