SSD to HDD

I currently have a 500GB HDD and have purchased a 256GB SSD, I am planning on cloning my HDD to SSD using Acronis TI 2013 which I have read works fine, but I was wondering if it is possible to clone the SSD back to the HDD on a weekly basis so that in the event of disk failure I can boot from HDD instead.

Please could somebody give me some insight as to whether this is possible or perhaps suggest an alternative way?
