Still recovering

Thread needs solution

I backed up two logical drives from a clients HP desktop, it's hdd is failing. The backup presented some errors which I figured were bad sectors of the drive. I don't remember the exact messages, I just clicked thru them and the backups finished. I am now trying to recover to a new drive. I selected recover to original location (the path is correct), clicked Recover Now, and the recovery progress window came up. It says recovering... and it says Time remaining: calculating...the progress bar is bare and it's been sitting like that for 4 days. The first 2 days I kept getting error messages: unable to recover File or Folder [Name]. I just clicked ignore and it continued. But the errors stopped and the program has just been sitting there. There is no percentage of recovery showing. The little computer screen icon in the task bar has the little arrow spinning around it. How many days should I wait? If I open the drive in explorer it does show some folders on the root that look like a typical C drive so I think it is working but why is it taking so bloody long? Is it because I have the backup stored on a external drive connected via USB 2.0? The drive to which I am restoring is connected the same way. Is that why? Is there a way of knowing for sure if it's actually recovering? I think I'm using 2011 but can't open Help/About while recovering. Any help is appreciated.

Try doing a disk option recovery when booted from the user created TI Recovery CD.
