Stupid user error - something not to do
I was restoring an image to my C: drive, realized I wanted the image from a different date, and hit Cancel.
Yikes. Since at that point Acronis2010 had removed the partition, my C: drive become a doorstop. I had to let the HP recovery manager put it back to factory installed condition, which was very lengthy as it included installing Windows 7. FINALLY I got a partitioned and formatted disk. Had to adjust the partitions since I keep a separate partition for downloads.
Then I was able to restore the image I had wanted in the first place. The drive letters Acronis showed were confusing, and the place to restore the image to was called Unallocated - but it all worked out. Acronis came through for me again. :D
Folks, don't hit Cancel when you have a full disk recovery under way.
