Support for Seagate 5t drive

Thread needs solution

I have been using Acronis 10. I recently purchased a Seagate 5t external drive. After selecting the option to backup the entire computer the screen changes to the page to select back up info and just hangs.

Will 2015 support this drive? In order to use the trial version it wants me to uninstall the version I have that works. I do not want to upgrade to 2015 unless I know that it will work with the Seagate Drive.

Here is a link to support media for 2015 with limitations listed:

My current version (2010) will back up files on to the Seagate drive but will not do a full disk image back up. I am running windows 7,
It would appear based on your link that 2015 will support the drive. Do you know if there was an issue with 2010 that would explain my problems?
I have no problem buying 2015 but would hate to spend the money and continue to have the same problem. My main desire is to have a reliable full back up so in case of I have a crash I can do a recovery.
Thank you for taking the time to reply.

Are you booting from rescue media, or are you just running TI in Windows? There is an issue with the bootable images being able to recognize USB 3.0 drives.

A 5TB disk is a GPT disk, and Acronis 2010 doesn't support GPT disks unless you have the corresponding Plus Pack.

Acronis 2015, just like 2014, supports GPT disks without any upgrade.
