Sync method
Hi,
I have a NAS and would like to know how the sync functionality works.
I would like to sync my music folder with a folder on my NAS, but I am unsure if this would work like I want to.
- How handles TI2013 deleted files on my PC, are these deletions repeated on the NAS?
Because that's exactly what I want. :) I used the Sync Toy by Microsoft before and there were differences between the sync methods.
regards

Hi, I have one more question.
My NAS isn't running 24/7 so when I power it on, True Image starts to sync, but it sometimes doesn't delete my folders on the NAS when I deleted one on my PC. It keeps the files and sometimes copies old folders on my pc instead of deleting them, that is annoying.
It seems the Microsoft Sync tool is the better choice for me. -.-
And by the way, the sort is always upset after the start although it is set to "sort by name". So I have to choose type and choose name again to sort the sync list.

For sync, I am using syncback SE. Not free, but lots of control and features.

Hi - I suppose this is like a prequel to this issue so maybe I should start another thread: Build (6514) by the way:
Issue: (maybe): I am under the impression that sync only works to some account (that I no longer have) that is on the Acronis 'cloud'. Like the poster in this thread, I'd like to backup to my NAS but there appears to be no option to do that. Am I missing something (like a brain?) ;)
Thanks.
(W64, Synology 4-disk NAS, Build 6514 TI).

You can sync your PC with an NAS. But, it's not a "backup" as you state: the sync would be in both directions.

Thanks for the quick response. I just had figured out how to use the local sync a moment ago, but am still trying to get one working. Much appreciated.

You're welcome.
Note: When using ATI with a network drive, use a UNC path to your NAS device for a backup destination, not a typical friendly "mapped" drive.
e.g.
\\192.168.2.25\My Backups\
I believe it may also be possible to use a UNC path that includes server name rather than IP, such as
\\server1\My Backups\

The \\{farm_name}\{target_dir} seems to work fine (one way anyway). Thanks.
