System dead, error on recovery, what went wrong?
I need your help cos my system is dead :(
Chronology:
- I made one single full backup of my laptop Acer Aspire V3-771G, Windows 8 64-bit, UEFI Bios (newest version 2.23) with True Image 2014 (build 6614) on external USB Harddrive. Process completed successfully, I verified then the backup file (4-5 partitions including those recovery and other UEFI based ones), everything OK
- I made one backup recovery disk on my USB-Stick
- I copied some new files to laptop, installed few programs in oder to test if recovery makes everything clear
- I restarted computer in order to try to "recover" system, USB-stick recognized as boot-medium (F12) but when booted from it NOTHING happened, screen was just showing ACER logo but nothing happened (Tried same procedure with F11, also same happened). So I couldnt get True Image recovery boot medium to start TI software...
- As I read somewhere that it might be UEFI problem, I got into BIOS and changed to Legacy Bios, restarted and voila I started TI softare from USB-stick (the same happened with F11 option, also succesfully started software)
- Very happy I started RECOVERY process (from external hard drive to internal of course)
- Everything run smooth untill some 98% (7-8 tasks and the longest one was partition with system disk and data I assume) and then came ERROR: "Operation with partition was terminated; internal error: number of copied sectors differs from counted (0x70001), Tag=0x2CBDD167CBCA95D8". The worst part: main internal disk recognized just as "undentified", ALL GONE :( I tried also just to recover those few smaller partitions (secured ones, with recovery installations and other UEFI things I dont know how to call them) and I got same error, so it seems that main partition with datas is not a problem...
I hope you can help me cos now I have my system on external drive as TI backup file but cant put it back to my internal drive because of this error. I try several times and always the same. I hope it has something to do with recovering under Legacy Bios and not under UEFI, but as already said I cant get recovery software running under UEFI, any ideas how to make recovery program starting under UEFI?
Or is it something else completely?
Thanx for any ideas and tipps

Mika,
Do you happen to know in what order the various partitions were originally in on the drive?
Are you able to mount and view the partitions within the tib file?
Does the tib file validate?
As Grover mentions a restore problem is always entitled to support from Acronis on their support page.

Mika,
Does the error happen after every single partition restore operation? If you have errors only with the smaller partition, you could try to reinstall Windows, then restore your main partition. You might have to repair the start up of the computer after that.
