System state backup failing

Thread needs solution

The last few days my daily system state backup has started making a lot of "chuntering" noises on my hard drive (like the head is searching back and forth) before coming up with the error message:
"Failed to backup file or folder 'C:\Windows\system32\config\software'"

I have a whole 128GB drive allocated as ASZ, used for the full system backup (which seems to work fine but only runs monthly) and the above state backup.

I just ran TIH09 to check the above and it has "chuntered" for a few minutes just opening up the app!

BTW is there a way to check the ASZ, since you can't access it from Windows?

Thanks for any help,

Rob
