System's Report item concerning Boot Entries Enumerator, UEFI and Boot Order

Thread needs solution

I ran an Acronis System's Report and am concerned about one of the items. One of the items on the report reads as follows:

"Boot variables are allowed on this system
Could not obtain Boot Entries Enumerator, UEFI is not enabled Could not obtain Boot Order, UEFI is not enabled"

I checked my bios settings but could not find any setting mentioning UEFI. I'm assuming that my computer does not support such a thing.

Question: Is there anything I have to be concerned about concerning the above mentioned readout? I want to make sure that I will not have a problem upon re-installing an image.

TZvi,

How old is your PC and what brand is it, or motherboard does it have?

More than like it, you have a PC that does not have UEFI firmware, but has a BIOS, in which case you can ignore the message. Note some newer PCs (such as my laptop Lenovo Edge 420) has an entry that doesn't say UEFI but it mixed mode, this means mine works as BIOS if the OS is set up as BIOS started or UEFI if the OS has been set up this way.

"Could not obtain Boot Entries Enumerator, UEFI is not enabled Could not obtain Boot Order, UEFI is not enabled"

This is a normal message on non UEFI systems when running the Acronis system report. The Acronis system report polls the firmware and if it does not support UEFI or UEFI is not enabled (Legacy BIOS is enabled) it is just reporting this fact.
