Taking too long to shut down Windows 7 OS
After buying and installing "True Image 2011" on my computer running Windows 7 Home Edition 64-bit OS, I found out that it was taking too long to shut down Windows 7 OS. It takes at least 5 minutes to shut down Windows 7 OS. I got a message saying that my computer was doing something before shutting down Windows 7 OS. How can I fix this problem?

Do you see "operations in progress"?
This is ATI trying to finish up stuff before shutting down. Sometimes there are good reasons (overdue validation or backup delayed by user activity if the corresponding options are set up that way) or unknow reasons (this is still under investigation by Acronis).
If you are absolutely positive no backup or validation is overdue (again this could happen if some backup or validation has been delayed by the options you find in the advanced settings of the scheduling windows), here is what you should try:
- uninstall 2011, use the ACronis True Image Home 2011 cleanup utility
- reboot
- reinstall 2011,
- recreate your tasks. Double check the schedule of backups and validations. Uncheck options to run anything only when the computer is idle or to run anything upon startup when anything is missed.
