"Target drive is running out of space - delete unneccessary files or choose another archive location".
I have been running scheduled backups with Acronis True Image Home 2011 Plus Pack without issues until recently.
After updating to build 6857, my scheduled backups stop, because, according to the application, the "target drive is running out of space". At first I thought it may had been the update, because there is a lot of free space on all the drives I use for backups, and as soon as the new build - 6868 - became available I applied the update. Unfortunately this did not fix the problem so I searched the forum and noticed that this problem has been in existence for a while but no fix is available.
Any news from Acronis development as to whether this problem will be addressed and resolved any time soon?

Anton: With respect, this is a known issue, and I suffer from it as well. I have two computers, one backing up to a 2TB WD external USB drive and the other backing up to a 1 TB WD USB external drive. No problems with the 2TB drive, but when I do a system backup (about 62 GB), I get that same stupid error message and have been since I upgraded to ATIH2011. I am running Build 6868 right now. Interestingly, email and data backups do not report this error. When I tell ATIH to IGNORE, it proceeds to backup the system properly. There is lots of space (over 700 GB free) on the 1 TB drive. I have CHKDSK'd the 1 TB drive and it is clean (no bad sectors or any other problems with it).
I should also note that when backing up data and emails to the 1 TB drive, I also get those stupid banners that inform me that my backup is corrupt when the log files clearly show that they were successful, and they announced successful completion at the time of backup. I validate all my backup files at time of creation, so this is also obviously a bug.
I think it is past due that the developers start fixing all of these annoying bugs. Just my two cents. Have a great day.

Hi Anton,
I'll collect the data (logs) you need and send them to you along with screenshots of the backup settings.
I have three external drives that I use for backups.
Two are 1TB in size and attached via eSATA.
The other one is a 640GB drive that is attached via USB.
The two eSATA attached drives have 600GB free space each. The USB attached drive has 330 GB free space.
The drive I backup is a 150GB WD Velociraptor drive that I have partitioned into 6 small partitions the largest of which is the windows partition which is 48GB with less than 23GB used. The compressed images that are generated when I run Acronis are less than 20GB in size. I always create full images.
I cannot see how a 20GB image cannot fit into 300GB of free storage even if Acronis would use two or even three times the size of the largest partition (48GB) while it is generating a compressed image.
Nonetheless, let me thank you for offering to work with me to resolve this issue.
As I said above, I will collect the data and send it to you.
Thanks,
George
