Task from image-file

Thread needs solution

Hello,

i reinstalled my windows 7 pc.
Now I want to do a new incremental backup with my old task-plan for backups,
but I don't have the old task-configuration-file anymore, just an old backup of my files (created with that plan).

Is it possible to recover the task-plan from a .tib backup-file,
so my True Image Home knows where to search files for a new backup run?

Ralf,

If you use ATI 2011, I recommend you simply start a new task.
If you still want to import your old backup 2011 do this:
- click on browse for your last *full* backup,
- a new box will appear with the name of your old image,
- click on operations, choose recreate backup settings,
- click on operations, choose edit backup settings and verify the settings are the ones you really want. You should in particular check the validation schedule, and, in the validation schedule, under advanced settings, uncheck all the boxes there (they can create problems). Save your new settings.
- set the new schedule for the backup.

I am pretty sure this could work for your last full. I am not sure it would work to pick the chain up on a recent incremental though. You can try.

At any rate, make sure you validate your backup after the first new run, to make sure that the chain's integrity is OK.

Hey Pat,

thank you very much for your instructions.
Sorry, that i forgot to post, that i am using ATI 2010, where i can't find such options.
Is there any way, or at a pinch, can you tell me, which files I need to save next time, to backup the settings also?

thx
