Is there anybody happy with the new GUI of TIH 2011?

Thread needs solution

...and if so, why? I work since many years with Acronis but I'm absolutely frustrated with this poor GUI. It may look nice for beginners but it's not proffessional to work with it. Thats why I cancel 2011 and go back to 2010.
Is there a different GUI in the professional/business version?

Yes, Acronis Backup and Recovery might suit your needs better. Although it is geared to centrally manage a pool of machines/servers backups, the Workstation version can easily be used to back up a single workstation, with a much finer control of backup plans and schedules.

I agree. This GUI is just plain horrible after 2010, even for beginners. It is non-intuitive and some thing are hard to find.
Particularly irritating are:

* Terrible way to list backups and terrible waste of space. Where is the option to see all backups on your computer using a browse feature.
* Inability to change file name of a backup using the edit option
* When you set up a new file backup, you cannot save your backup to execute at a later time. After you schedule it, you have to run the backup now to get it to save. why is there no save option for new backups???
* Inability to separate backups. I save my data every night using the @date@ feature. the 2011 version insists on somehow thinking these are the same backup. It does not list the different days individually and if you use the delete function, it deletes them all, and all your backups are gone. How stupid is that.
* Where is an option to list all your schedule backups in one place? What happened to the tasks and log option?
* After installing 2011 version, all my scheduled backups had changed to differential when they were full. Lucky to discover that.
* Where is a simple recover feature that lets me browse all folders to find backuyps; click on them to explore if I want, and recover what I need. I know it can be done. but it is non-intuitive, many clicks and simply frustrating.

I paid for it, but think I'm going back to 2010. I can't stand this version. It is a retrograde. Why would I buy a different product, pay a second time for only one workstation to get back features and functionality that I had in 2010. That makes no sense.

Hello guys,

Thank you for your comments, and for the sincere feedback provided, I appreciate it.

I must say I share your opinion on that. We are forwarding all the feeback to the Development team, and they have decided to update the GUI layout in the upcoming Acronis True Image Home 2012.

I have forwarded your comments to the Developers and Management team as well, thank you for the feedback. Please note that you can always share your opinion with us directly, it's important for us.

Thank you.

I just updated to TIH 2011 from 2010. If I knew how AWFUL the UI was in 2011, I would never have upgraded. Whew. Whomever designed the new UI must have just graduated from programming school. There should be a worst UI contest somewhere that we can submit the TIH program to.

This UI is SO bad, everyone ought to get a free upgrade to 2012 (if they are really going to fix it then).

I've used Acronis for years, but I am going to look at some other solutions now...
