TI 10 Upgrade Advise
I just installed TI 10 on Windows 7 x64, but when I try to start it, a dialog appears, saying that it is blocked due to incompatiblity. I understand that I need to upgrade to TI 2010, but a couple of thing I'm uncertain of...the CD that I was originally sent for TI 10 was only x32, and I had to download the x64 version. Would that remain true with TI 2010? Would TI 2010 install into the same folder as TI 10, or would it work if installed in a new directory?

Okay, then the question is whether the upgrade version is complete in itself, and if it would require some kind of verification that I already owned TI 10? Or would I simply use the same serial key as I did for TI 10?

I also need to know how to upgrade TI10 to TI2010.
1. Can I do it?
2. Do I uninstall TI10 and install the upgrade standalone expecting it to accept my TI10 key, or do I do an overlay upgrade install, or is a new key provided with the upgrade?
An answer from Acronis would be nice but I'll take advise from anyone who has done this.
Thanks ... Sam

Do a new clean install of 2010 using it's own key.

Thanks for such a quick reply. Just to be sure, you're saying that the upgrade version comes with its own key?
I didn't expect that since couldn't anyone just order an upgrade, unininstall V10, and then install V2010 as a new version?
Thanks ... Sam

No. I posted before having my first cup of coffee and still foggy. I bought a new full version from Amazon, instead of upgrading, because I found a cheap deal. That offer seems to have lapsed, so your question remains unanswered.

OK, thanks anyway seekermeister. I'll wait for someone else (I hope). Enjoy your coffee.

Each version TI10 or TI11 or TI2009 or TI 2010 has its own serial numbers and each download is a standalone download.
You do not have to have anything installed. Old version should be uninstalled before installing a newer version.
You can upgrade to a newer version but you will need to have both the brand new serial plus the original serial number from the original full (not upgrade) old purchase. For example: if you purchased the full version of v8 and then purchased the upgrade for v9, you will need the serial number from the original full v8 if you now upgrade to 2010.
Or, if you buy the full version, only the new serial number is needed.
If you need to install a newer build within the same version, a newer build can be installed over the top and serial number is usually not requested.

Thanks very much, Grover. This was the key thing I was looking for:
"You can upgrade to a newer version but you will need to have both the brand new serial plus the original serial number from the old purchase."
