TI 11 does not work under Windows 7 64 bit
Hello here,
In September 2008, I ordered two licenses for Acronis True Image 11 Home
Both two computers works under Windows vista 32 bit
Now I had purchased a new computer based on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
This computer will replace my HP machine
Searching in this web forum I found the following thread:
http://forum.acronis.com/forum/6221
According to this, Windows 7 does not support Acronis True Image 11 Home!!!
Dmitry suggesting there to upgrade into Acronis True Image Home 2010, for
$29.99.
I am not intending to do that. First, because I don't think that it's fair
to require an additional payment for the same product.
Secondly, according to the reports in this forum, many users says that True
Image Home 2010 also have problems with Windows 7
Therefore, if you can't provide a safe version of True Image Home, which
works perfectly under Windows 7 64 bit, then I ask you to give me back money
for one license.
In that case, I will seek for another backup software, which works under
Windows 7 without any problem!!!
I must add that I try to inform about this via email, but all my messages get the same response:

I think it's very bad that a customer don't have the possibility to contact directly with the company.
Yes there is also the Live chat option, but it simply awful. I try it , but it's was like a Dialogue between two deaf people...

Symantec Norton Ghost it's a strong tool for backup and restore
I choose TI, because I heard it's more friendly and simple for use.
But again, the fact that really pissed me off is that Acronis don't give me even the possibility to write them directly and complain about the product
I just want to give a small example, how a decent manufacturer should behave.
I had a same problem with PerfectDisk 10 pro.
I purchased license for two computers with Vista. So I wrote to Raxco Software, asking them if their product compatible with Windows 7.
A few hours later, I got from them a downloadable link to PerfectDisk 11 pro, which works fine under Windows 7. They also provide me a new license code for this product.
And all of it, without any additional payment. They don't require even one penny for that!!!!

Raxco never offered me a free upgrade and I beta tested PD11. I wonder how Raxco ever make any money, mmmm!?
I usually buy just the licences I need but buying two then later claiming free software for the latest version of whatever in two years time sounds a good idea.
May be I'll just wait.

Hi all,
Avi, I'm afraid Acronis True Image 11 is quite an old version of the product which was discontinued before Windows 7 got into an Alfa stage.
At present Acronis True Image Home 2010 is the only version which officially support Windows 7. It is also far more advanced than any previous versions of the product.
You can download and install trial version to make sure it works flawlessly on your machines.
I regret to inform you that we cannot provide you with refund of the products you currently have as those were purchased too long ago (September 2008). So the only option to have Windows 7 capable version of Acronis True Image is upgrade. I will follow you up via PM to search for any other possible options.
Stan, It is not completely clear what exactly is happening on your machine that is why I'm suggesting you to submit support request with the detailed description of the problems you're experiencing and the following diagnostic information. If you're experiencing any application crash please collect Dr.Watson crash dump and log as well. This will help to find the root cause of the problems and ensure quick resolution.
Thanks for your feedback.
Please post to this thread should you have any further questions or concerns.
Andrey.
