TI 11 Home error 000101F4

SATA HDDs not recognized appears to be a widely spread problem. Most desktop PCs do have this type of HDD, and others .... I'm surprised by the lack of effective solution by Acronis.

My ATIH 11 is certainly a "home" product and therefore benefits only from 30 days support. This is ridiculous, considering that a "disaster" is unlikely to happen during the first 30 days ! Who is testing a complete backup and restore process just after installation ?. I must admit, Ididn't, assuming that the reputation of Acronis was enough.

My ATIH 11 is 10 moths old, I did regular backups and dedicated a complete HDD for that. After a crash of my master HDD, I have to restore it and I am waiting for some one at Acronis to give me a link to an ISO image that could purposedly solve the issue.

I downloaded the ISO file, burnt a CD and tried it. Unfortunately, the restore process fails again. The PC boots on the CD, proposes options and engages in an endless restart loop (whatever the option).

I would recommend you create BartPE bootable disc using Acronis BartPE plug-in, you can download plugin from your account.  If some drivers are not recognized by Acronis True Image 11 Home you may use BartPE bootable disc. It is possible to add any storage drivers at startup in the same manner as when installing Windows on the hard drive (by pressing F6 and inserting diskette with drivers).

Thanks for trying but manipulating PE builder is overstretching my abilities. I downloaded and installed it but I cannot find the proper "installation files" (even after careful reading of all materials), BartPE is not integrated with ATIH 11 (eventhough I renamed et copied proper folders) .... It is a mess, and many hours wasted.

Anything simpler to get me running with a restored system ?

I'm in the same boat, Patrice. I've upgraded three times from True Image 7.

They (Acronis) seem to like to add FEATURES, but the core of the program (a simple backup/restore) goes into the sh*tcan.

NO MORE UPGRADES FOR ME! I'm not giving them one more nickel. I just want TI 11 to work as advertised.

Hi Patrice. TM here (again). I got restore to work!
No BartPE needed...and no dumb .iso file(s).

Assuming that you have an Asus MB of recent vintage (as I do), you may want to try this--but no warranty expressed or implied :-)

1. Make a backup of your current partition (if you're able).
2. Enter your BIOS setup. ("Del" key for me)
3. On the MAIN PAGE (page 1) arrow down to "Storage Configuration"
4. Then arrow down to "SATA Mode Select"
5. There are now three options to choose from: "AHCI," "SATA" and "RAID" Modes. You are most likely already in "SATA Mode" (as I was).
6. Choose "AHCI Mode."
7. Hit the F10 key to save the change you just made. Then Y to exit the BIOS.
8. Use your TI 11 Boot/Rescue disk to re-boot.
9. Choose the "Restore" option...blah...blah. (And it's probably wise to "verify" your backup file.)
10. When you're through with the restore, re-boot and go back into the BIOS setup (again, it's the "Del" key for me, and probably you, too) and just un-do what you did earlier: revert back to "SATA Mode" (instead of AHCI) from the "SATA Mode Select" field.
11. Save your BIOS change and re-boot back into Windows with (hopefully) your newly-restored system.

There must be "something" with the Asus chipset/SATA controller vis-a-vis Acronis where the Acronis Recovery Disk only loads AHCI drivers for proper SATA detection.

Well, that's my story. Good luck if you try this (I can't see how it could do any harm, but...?).

As a matter of facts, it worked, thank's again.

To the benefits of others facing the same problem (my mobo is a Gigabyte ultra durable 3):

In the BIOS configuration' pages, I changed the "Sata mode" AHCI to "enable" (il was disabled by default)

I could lauch the Acronis loader on reboot

Acronis was able to "see" my HDDs

I restored my system

Unfortunately, on reboot it engaged into a restart loop

After searching in the Bios parameters, I discovered that the HDDs priority had been changed without notice to an external USB drive.

I corrected the proirity list and it booted correctly on my new restored HDD.

I changed back the Bios Sata mode to AHCI "disabled"

End of the story

As a conclusion, I am not confortable with Acronis products and their support.

Here's the problem. I have TI 10 on Win XP. I made backups to an external HD. When my PC crashed I could no longer recover the backups because the TI 10 program is on the crashed HD which is completely inaccessible.

I want to download another copy of TI 10 so I can get to my backed up material. What must I do?
