TI 2010 What I did to make it work

Thread needs solution

The first time I installed 2010 (built 6029) on my Win XP SP3 I was disapointed, interface with curious fonts, sluggish, and ran forever without creating any bakcup (I gave up before it ended). I tried it on my Vista Laptop and had the same problem (interface was nicer)

In "Options" I changed the fonts to Tahoma 8 pt., that made the interface nicer and quicker. I also set "Backup Priority" to "High". It then worked perfectly, creating a backup as fast as my earlier TI 11. Same on the Vista machine.

The only problem is that the "remaining time" displayed during the backup process is wrong and weird. It jumps from 7 minutes to 22 hours, then back to 4 minutes.... 12 minutes... and so on. The progress bar is not updated correctly. And all of a sudden... "Backup complete". At least it works. But it still need a little fine tuning.

Hello Alain,

Thank you very much for your feedback! Let me clarify some information here.

Yes, it's a good suggestion to change the fonts in the product. Since it may be displayed not correctly due to Windows localization, general Fonts settings etc. And this will surely affect product performance in general.

The situation regarding remaining time well known. When product performing some backup \ restore operation, speed of information capturing \ restoring may change. For example when product reads one big file for a long time - it affects remaining time period. This is by default. The situation regarding progress bar is depended on the same factors.

Anyway, we have reported this issue to responsible person, so it will be considered.

Thank you very much for your cooperation and for reporting this issue to us!
