TI 2011 ALWAYS says "not backed up yet"
I've used TI 2009, 2010 and recently tried 2011 (build 5519) to backup my C: drive (with Win7) to "My backups" on another hard drive. The 4GB files get created, I can successfully run Validation on them, but can't restore any files. I would be happy to list all the steps I go thru, if anyone wants to see them. Be sure to check out the attachment. I've tried the button "Back up now", but the backup still shows "not backed up yet".
Is my best solution to go back to TI 2010, this process worked perfectly with it. I personally like the 2010 menus much better than 2011.
Thanks.

Grover,
You're right, same error message (not backed up yet). Tried another TI 2011 disk backup without any special characters (except _), see attachment. I've been doing TI backups for over a year with 2009, 2010 versions and have always used acceptable windows characters, never saw a problem. I would not expect Acronis to modify the file name processing.

From the link, at least we know the cause is the program and the fix is being worked on.
If you want the "not backed up" message to be replaced with the actual info, the link tells us how.
TrueImage will modify your name to this extent. Postings has shown that
1. user supplied parenthesis will be removed either some of the time or all the time--depending.
2. After the first chan has been created TrueImage will add (x) (x=chain number for its internal identififcation.)

Hopefully, the next release will include a fix for your backups being displayed as not backed up now.

Bump.
I still can't do full backups with 2011 TIH.
Acronis, can you help me determine why?
Should I just un-install 2011 and go back to 2010? I was hoping the new release of 2011 TIH would come out soon, but, I need to perform a full image backup soon.
Thanks,
Norm Perron

Norm,
Are you willing to try an experiment.
If TrueImage open, then close it.
If external drives are used as backup storage for any of your tasks listed on your attachments, then attach and power up these external drives.
Next Open TrueImage and select one of the External disk backup tasks
Click on the Operations button
Click on the Open Backup Locations option
Explore window should open to your prior backups for that specific task. If it does not, then manually confirm that there are backup files in the specific folder listed in the task target.
Repeat the same test for other tasks.
Right click on one of the "Back up now" buttons.
Is one of the options to "Back up now", If yes, click on it and see if a backup begins.
What happens when you double click on one of the Actual task names--as listd in your attachment?
There should be nothing preventing you from creating a new task and performing a backup of any partition you wish. Likewise, you can create backups when booted from the TI Rescue CD.
I would be intereted in the results--if you are willing to perform the experiments.

I'm ready for the experiment.
All drives are spinning, bring up TI 2011.
I see one my my previous attempts, still says "not backed up yet". Clicked Operations, Open Backup Location, told:
Error, The backup location cannot be found., more details says Event code 0x00640004, then need to hit ignore.
The Location: points to the proper backup folder, and the backup file name is in that folder.
If I browse in Win Explorer, I definitely see files in the location specified, G:\My backups\
In Win Explorer, I can right click the 1st file of the set, go to Archive and Validate, and the job validates fine.
I then right click Back up now, Back up now is an option, I selected it. It is going thru it's 19 minute backup, and I see the progress bar.
Backup completed, still says "not backed up yet". Interesting, My Backups directory has another set of 3 large files, so it actually did the backup.
I am able to create backup jobs, they all just say "not backed up yet"
I know about the rescue CD, but prefer doing the backup while Windows is available.

Just coming here a bit late, but have you tried a repair install of 2011?
It might actually be easier (if you feel a bit of frustation and impatience coming on) to delete the tasks, and remake them attaching the current backups to the new tasks.
