TI 2011.6857 disconnects USB 3.0 external HDD during backup
Using a new Acomdata USB 3.0 external HDD enclosure with a new Intel i7 Win7-64bit computer with an Intel MB with including USB 3.0 inputs. When trying to do a backup using TI2011 it will loose/disable connection to the ext HDD which also disconnects it from Windows. Sometimes is does it within 30 mins of starting the backup, other times it will do it just before the backup is complete (almost 1TB of data so that's at about 3hrs into the backup). I know bld 6857 is supposed to support USB 3.0 so why does it continue to loose/disconnect the connection? I've left the ext enclosure connected to Windows for over a day without issue of loosing connection only when using TI does this happen. Also tried both USB 3.0 inputs and same issue.
TI log says "specificed file doen not exist" which refers to the ext enclosure being dropped. Then TI will eventually cancel. I ran a System Report from within TI, will send that vs attach when an Acronis tech responds, however, the log folder from the System report doesn't show the problem backups??! However, if I just go into Logs I can see it...not sure why that is. What is the issue with the USB 3.0 connection to my ext HDD enclosure?
Thx

Hi GroverH...
Thanks for the reply...unfortunately, I made sure that my power option does not sleep the computer at all, only the display turns off. Also, I don't do the scheduling, I do the backup manually so did not use the schedule operation. The computer is still "on" when TI looses/disconnects the Acomdata USB 3.0 external HDD.
Other thoughts?

The power setting I had in mind was
the USB setting
USB Selective Suspend setting set to disabled during the backup
and perhaps the hard drive set to never during the backup
Simulate editing your task and look at the schedule option under Advanced settings.
Is the new option checked or unchecked to keep the computer from sleeping?

Hi there,
I have the schedule option turned off, but, both the Wake from sleep/hibernating and Do Not sleep while the task is enabled are checked. So either way I should be covered. And as noted before, I don't have the sleep function enabled in Windows Power Settings so the computer never sleeps. So I'm still perplexed as to why the ext enclosure loses a connection with Acronis...it doesn't seem to with just normal activity.
Is TI able to work with all USB 3.0 external enclosures? I would think so as it should be standardized...
Any other suggestions?

Perhaps you would want to contact Acronis via the Live Chat support option. I have no other suggestions. I assume the device itself has no power settings.
Just to make sure we are talking the same power setting, I an NOT talking about a Sleep option, but am talking about an option labelled as a USB setting. This is pictured in Figure 12 of my suggested pdf.

Yes, I checked the USB setting in my Never Sleep power option and it is disabled. The only power options for the device is the on/off switch.
