TI 2013: Changing Windows User Account
One of the things I love about Acronis TrueImage software is that it does such a great job of getting in the way of me trying to back up my systems. No matter what I try to do, it never disappoints me by simply getting the job done. Instead, every single thing I try to configure causes a problem. It takes a lot of hard work to make that happen, I'm sure.
Okay, now on to today's problem.
I am having backups fail for inability to connect to an SMB share (which is part of a NAS4Free storage system). I think it's a credentials problem. I've made sure that the SMB share password is identical to the Windows password for the user account running TI. So I went in to the backup job configuration, Windows Account/User section, and tried to deselect the "run as another user" checkbox, since TI should be able to simply use the Windows credentials to access the SMB share.
I can deselect the checkbox. But when I click on "Okay" to close the dialog box, nothing happens. For at least 25 minutes (after which I gave up).
I am aware of the potential for problems in accessing an SMB share from Windows caused by the password hashing algorithms not necessarily being the same (at least, that used to be a problem years ago; I thought more recent versions of *nix SMB server software worked around that). But that still doesn't explain why a simple action like closing a dialog box fails. With no message of any kind, of course.
Has anyone been successful in changing TI's Windows execution account? If so, what's the trick? Doing it on a night of a full moon after sacrificing a goat or something?

Thanx, shadowsports. I appreciate the suggestion. But my experience with Acronis is that upgrading doesn't solve any of my problems, and just makes my wallet lighter :).
I'll reconsider that if I get sufficiently desperate.
