TI 9.1 - backup does not finish

Thread needs solution

Hello community,

we've got a problem with Acronis True Image Server 9.1 on a Windows 2003 R2 server machine. We use 4 removal discs that we change every week. Every disc has enough free space to hold backup archives of two weeks if necessary. Older files of same name shall be overwritten.

On Monday and Friday we backup complete system partition C: which is kept in an about 6 GB sized .tib file. This works fine.

From Monday to Friday we also (full) backup the most important working data which results in a about 65 GB sized .tib file. We've experienced for some weeks now that these backup jobs seem not to finish correctly.

First, the backup file is not called for example save_array_monday.tib, but save_array_monday1.tib (which is a temporary file name I guess). If I would try to restore something from this backup file, Acronis basically writes that the .tib file is not the most recent created volume of backup archive.

Second, in the job list I can't see any final result, neither success nor failure.

Third, if I take a look at the event viewer, I also can't see an error.

I already removed all TrueImage and TrueService entries in the Task Manager. I also restarted the Acronis Scheduler2 Service and the Acronis VSS Provider. But there is no change in behaviour.

I didn't restart the complete machine, yet, and wouldn't like to, if possible.

Any hints are highly appreciated.

Regards

Appendix:

I've updated to the most recent build and necessarily rebooted the machine. Tomorrow I will know if this helped.

We've had a functioning backup for 2 days now. I don't know if it's up to the software update or the server reboot. I will keep an eye on it.
