TI Home 2012 and bootable media
My last try to find a solution.
I'm using TI Home 2012 bootable media.
I didn't want to use an external USB-Drive, to slow. So I bought a hard drive mobile rack Sharkoon Quickport Intern 1-Bay.
I start the bootable media with a HHD in the rack and I get a message which reads severe error no bootdevice(partition) found.
Without a HHD in the rack bootable media does its work. I downloaded WDs version of True image, created a bootable media and start this.
It starts and if a WD-Drive is found it starts with a HDD in the rack. If there is no WD mounted it starts the program and goes through checking drives and display there is no WD-Drive and lets me end the program.
Does anyone use a moble rack and what type that lets TI do its work?

You might try creating an Xboot or Grub4dos bootable flash drive containing the Acronis True Image recovery media ISO. You would then boot from that USB flash drive. (Ensure that your BIOS is set with Removable Drive as higher boot priority than Hard Disk Drive.)

There didn't change any thing after changing the boot priority in BIOS.
How to create a bootable flash media i have to find a guide HowTo.
Thanks. I ordered another mobile rack hoping it is not my BIOS which make the trouble.

if security is not an issue, this very easy to use enclosure works without issue for me. I have two of them installed in my xp pro desktop using two Seagate sata drives. One attached to the motherboard and another attached to a PCI adaper. This enclosure also has a connector for a eSATA connection. All of the last 4 TIH versions have worked without issue as these are just normal internal drives--just enclosed in a special case with very quick and easy removal of the actual disk.
It only down side is the ease of removal and may not be usable in a public office environment.

bootable flash drive.
Insert a 1 GB or larger flash drive and then start the ACronis Bootable media creator. The target will appear and select the flash drive rather than the CD.

Ah, good, that's even better, a much simpler method to create a bootable USB flash drive for ATIH. I didn't know that 2012 had that capability built-in.
Is there a reason why the flash drive must be at least 1 GB? The latest ISO is only 277 MB. Does it need to makes use of free space on the drive?

Minimum stick size is 256 MB in that case only put Acronis True Image Home on it and not the Acronis System Report (why is it on the boot disk anyway?). I use an obsolete Sandisk Cuzer Mini 256 MB, boots fine.
(!) if the stick is too small then Acronis will not issue an error, creation "succeeds" however the stick will not work...

Thanks for reminder Henk. I was aware of your posting in the link below. In fact, there is a link to it inside my guides.
The file size of some Winpe created sticks is 230K

Surprise!
I created a bootable USB-Stick using Xboot. It started and it does what the bootable CD isnt able to do . It made a new image. The bootable USB version acts very slow when switching through the menus. What is different between this 2 tools? My next is to test a restore.

Good, I'm glad it worked. I thought it was worth trying.

So does the bootable CD. It's not the media that's the issue, it's the Linux environment ATIH, and it also responds very slowly on my system. It may have something to do with driver support, I'm not sure. But, I don't think menu and button response would be any different whether booted from USB or CD,

So does the bootable CD-Media NOT! I tried everything i could do, downloaded several times, burned it with different CDs, reduced speed, took another ROM device and RW device, booted from both. Bootable CD ends "in no bootdevice/partition found". Fact on my machine.

You missed the point of my reply. My comment comparing the two was in reply to your statement that menu response is slow in the bootable media. My point is that you'd see the same thing, whether booted from USB or CD. I was not saying that the CD method works on your computer.
But, the bootable CD works for most people, so the problem may be something with your system or possibly with drivers related to the optical drive that may not be fully supported in ATIH.

Sorry, should first read, try to understand and reply after that.
