TI reads the whole hard disk on startup?

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I installed TI 2010 demoversion to my WinXP SP3 computer.

After starting the program my hard drive has much activity and process monitor says that TI is reading my whole disk, c:/xxx d:/xxx and so on.

I do not activate any backup task in this moment, no individuell, no nonstop backup, nothing!

So, why is TI reading my whole hard drive in this moment?

a) I do not want TI to do so - TI should read just this files and folders I will say to it
b) it slows down my system very much

Hello,

Thank you for posting, I will be happy to help.

Acronis True Image Home 2010 should check the entire system, this was done by design and you are unable to get rid of it.

To find the exact reason of why your system becomes slow, please contact our Live chat service. The issue is rather complicated for troubleshooting via Forum.

To get the access to Live chat service one should go to this page, under Contact us click on the Start here button, select Have questions. From the pop up select Technical issue with product. Select Trial Version selection \Select product from drop down box.  Choose Live chat.

If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other questions do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.

Thank you.

  • Can you tell me, for what (technical) purpose TI is "checking" the whole system?
  • What will TI do with this information? For what reason TI needs them?
  • Will a once installed TI do this in future more often after this first check?
