.tib file name starts with $
Hello. I have this old file, $RJ20GB6.tib, created with version 9. Can any data be recovered from it? I don't have any of the other files from that backup, just this one file.
Thanks for your help.

When I try to mount, explore or recover using TIH 2011, a box opens "specify location of the volume". When I try to double click the file in windows explorer, a box opens " locate the volume with number 1".

This looks like a temp file. Try renaming to remove the $ sign.
From the numbering, it looks like it is the 6th file and depending upon its size, it could be a full or diff or inc.
Based on the error message, it appears to be part of a chain and not readable without the full backup foundation.

Number 1 should be the first full in the chain this backup belongs to. If there is no such a TIB file, you cannot do anything with this backup.

No, I don't have the first file but thought it was worth asking just in case there was a work around. I did rename and remove the $ but get the same results.
Thanks to all for your help.
